It’s the people, of course! Bryan and Gwen, their family, and staff have created a place unlike any other. Here, you will be warmly greeted, treated like family, and missed when you depart. Keep reading to find out “Why Us” over the other guys!
Bryan and Gwen bought Cedar Lodge in 2013 in order to restore it as a venue for groups of all types to host family reunions, conferences, retreats, and vacations. Living right across the street, they can offer guests a personal experience as an extension of their own family.
MEET THE OWNERS
They haven't always been in the resort business, although they've had a lot of hospitality experience throughout their lifetime. Having a heart for families, they offer a venue for reunions to support family connections in this busy day and age where more of us seem to be connecting through electronics.
Bryan Carpenter
Owner
Bryan, a graduate of MSU, joined the US Air Force and was trained as a pilot. He flew small single engine planes (the O2), multi-engine planes (the B52) and several sizes in between. After 20 years of service and 16 moves, he went to work for American Airlines in Ft. Worth. 18 years later, he “retired” to build their first resort on Lake Buchanan. Nine years after that, he and his wife, Gwen, bought Cedar Lodge Texas.
Gwen Carpenter
Owner
Gwen met Bryan at MSU but graduated from TCU with a degree in nursing. She worked as an RN off and on during their Air Force career while raising their two children, Jeff and Kelly-Anne. Jeff lives in Austin with his twins. Kelly-Anne lives in San Antonio with her children. Both Gwen and Bryan enjoy spending any free time they have with their precious family.
